A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a financial advisor since 2006, John has a passion for helping his clients explore and identify what matters most to them so they can work towards achieving the goals that motivate and inspire them. John uses comprehensive financial planning as the foundation for developing and implementing customized investment strategies and thoughtfully targeted insurance solutions. Prior to becoming a financial advisor, John spent 10 years in the technology industry working for venture-backed start-ups and companies like Microsoft and Intuit. That experience is particularly beneficial for clients who work in the tech industry or those who receive public or private company equity compensation. Whether it involves tax planning strategies, estate planning, charitable giving or any other financial decision, John’s goal is to help clients make smart choices about their money.


John earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences and MBA degrees from Stanford University. He has served on the board of trustees for St. Paul's Episcopal School in Oakland as well as Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa. He and his family love dogs, but consider gophers their mortal enemies. John enjoys basketball, golf, poker, theater, improv comedy, playing a variety of musical instruments including the ukulele, bass, and drums, and he is a fervent Golden State Warriors and college basketball fan, stopping just short of wearing funny wigs and painting his chest team colors.
